As you are no doubt aware, the Tsunami that happened to our Northern Neighbours has left more than 150,000 dead and more than 500,000 thousand displaced with out food fresh drinking water and shelter, you are aware I would presume that aid is reaching the disaster zone through the various aid agencies, unfortunately the aid being sent is only making it to towns that have access by road to the airport which by the way is designed to take 30 flights a day not the 750 that are currently utilising the airstrip. I was watching the news this evening and they were showing an aid agency operating outside of the norm, they were a group of Australian and U.S. expatriates who had set up there own operation to deliver aid to areas that had not been reached, there were reports of large groups of survivors having to walk 24klms each way to receive food and water every day. I had been thinking about writing to you and tonight's report that things are not as good as they should be was the straw that broke the camels back. A while ago I was researching watercraft suitable for use in our terrain and came across your web page for your commercial hovercraft, I was particularly interested in your LACV-30 heavy lift hovercraft for the oil and gas industry which is booming here at the moment which brings us to the point of my letter. I believe that your LACV-30 would be most suitable for relief operations in the Tsunami hit area, its ability to transport heavy cargo's quickly and on to the beach would help in the rebuilding of the area which by all indications is likely to take between 3-5 years. So I ask, or should I say humbly ask, could we Rent?, Borrow, Beg, steal the use of your craft in these wanting times, we plan to load the craft with goods in the Port of Darwin and ship them speedily across to the areas that are urgent, we hope to do this with fundraisng from within the local community and donations of trade materials for the rebuilding process. I hope this letter finds you in good health and look forward to your reply Most Kindest Regards John j Green PS: Whatever is the chosen profession of a man, experience gained on other fields can always be useful. We are a commercial Hovercraft operation that does in fact operate a Hovercraft out of Bethel to deliver mail to remote Alaskan Villages. You are welcome to print things on your website from past articles. We are not affiliated with any clubs in the USA or elsewhere and do not sponsor other hovercraft enterprises. Thank you for your inquiry.
